Safeguarding

Ark Greenwich Free School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its pupils. Each scholar’s welfare is of paramount importance.
Everyone working in or for Ark Greenwich Free School shares an objective to help keep children and young people safe by contributing to: providing a safe environment for children and young people to learn and develop in our school setting, and identifying children and young people who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm, and taking appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe both at home and in our school setting.
Our safeguarding policy is in line with the Child Protection Procedures outlined in the legislation: Keeping Children Safe in Education (2022) and 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' (2018).
Should you have any concern over the safety and wellbeing of a child or young person, or children are being harmed, at risk of harm, or you receive a disclosure (intentionally or unintentionally) please contact one of our Designated Safeguarding leads:
The DSL/DDSL will provide support to staff members to carry out their safeguarding duties and who will liaise closely with other services such as children’s social care.
All adults who regularly work at Ark Greenwich Free School are required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to prevent unsuitable people from working with students. All visitors are closely supervised when on site.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You can find our safeguarding policy on our policies page.
Hard copies of all policy documents are available upon request from the academy reception.
