Described as “among the highest performing schools in the country” (Evening Standard, 2017), AGFS is a new and ambitious school model based on what we know excellent schools do. This is a “fantastic and extraordinary school” (Tom Bennet Founder of Research Ed, 2018).
The opportunity to empower young people, regardless of socio-economic background, to grow and be successful is at the heart of everything we do at AGFS. We provide the very best all-round education in order to prepare our pupils for the modern world. We are proud of our respectful and highly disciplined community where pupils and staff feel valued; a no-excuses ethos prevails; and aspirations are unashamedly sky high. Our values of Ambition, Growth, Fellowship and Scholarship permeate all aspects of school life.
What people say about us
Sharp CPD, supportive staff and hard-working passionate students; a combination every teacher could only wish for!- J Finneran, MFL joined 2017
It was a great decision for me to move to work at AGFS, there is a family style atmosphere and best of all I can just get on and teach, the culture for behaviour is consistantly managed across the school with high expectations that the students reach.- Staff member since 2016
The ambition, growth, fellowship and scholarship values within both the students and the staff is a great support for everyone’s development at the school.- Staff member since 2015
As part of a small school, there is a great sense of camaraderie and fellowship. We help each other wherever we can and we always feel like a significant part of the school; nobody gets lost in the system. My colleagues are talented, witty and supportive. We’re also reflective and always looking to improve. As a member of AGFS, you will learn a lot, feel challenged and supported and be given excellent development opportunities.- Staff member since 2013

Make a difference where it matters the most
Ark schools are always based in the communities where we can make the biggest difference to children’s lives. We take on some of the most challenging schools in the country. Many of our schools have a history of academic under-achievement or are in areas of economic disadvantage. We have more than ten years' experience of successfully transforming schools, building outstanding new schools and improving the life chances of some of the most disadvantaged young people in the country.
As a part of our schools' network, you’ll work with colleagues from different subjects, schools and cities, and have the chance to take on network-wide responsibilities such as leading programmes or training.
Ark Network Days
Three times a year, people working in specific roles or subject areas get together to share best practice and deepen their subject knowledge with peers from across the Ark network.
Have an impact far beyond your own school
If you want to be part of the effort to advance and improve education, join Ark. From creating and working with new curricula and teaching techniques, to collaborating with other schools and partners to share what works, we’re always aiming for system change. Through Ark Ventures, we incubate, launch and scale initiatives, such as Mathematics Mastery, English Mastery, Institute for Teaching and Ambition School Leadership, that address some of the most intractable issues in education and society – in the UK and around the world.
