Our corridors were filled with an incredible array of literary and fictional characters. Scholars and staff brought books to life with appearances from the dramatic world of An Inspector Calls, alongside much-loved characters such as Elmo and Cookie Monster. We also welcomed the ever-determined Gingerbread Man, the unforgettable Lord Farquaad from Shrek, and magical figures including Albus Dumbledore and scholars from Hogwarts.
Classic literature was also well represented, with characters stepping straight out of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, while even the watchful Eye of Sauron from The Lord of the Rings made an unforgettable appearance.
However, the true highlight for AGFS scholars was the appearance of a very special “character” — our 2025–2026 Autumn Core Knowledge Book!
World Book Day at AGFS was a wonderful reminder that books have the power to transport us to new worlds, introduce us to unforgettable characters and inspire curiosity and imagination in every scholar.
