On Thursday 20th November we celebrated the AGFS Annual Prize Evening, with Oscar style glamour. This is the biggest event of our school calendar and we were delighted to celebrate 155 scholars who received a range of certificates, prizes and trophies. A large number of our class of 2025 returned to celebrate the recognition of their fantastic achievements and exam results.
A particular highlight was the presentation of two ‘Greatness in Greenwich' awards. This is a borough-wide recognition of achievement and we were proud to present these to Andreea Petco and Kelly Pereira. We were also proud to celebrate Andreea Petco as the 2025 winner of the Connor Pearce award, the joint highest honour a student can receive. Additionally, we saw the inaugural Kayin Nielsen award; an award that will be given each year to a student showing outstanding commitment to the AGFS extra curricular programme and the wider community.
Prize Evening is also the event where we formally welcome our Year 7 scholars into the AGFS community as part of their matriculation. Every single Year 7 scholar earned their matriculation and a record number of Year 7 scholars matriculated with honours, showing that they have made the best possible start to their secondary school careers. The evening was punctuated with some outstanding musical performances from Year 7, the AGFS Choir and two student bands. It was a wonderful evening and we look forward to celebrating the future success of all AGFS scholars.
